I know this ube is of limited use to begin with, being a triode-pentode with common cathode, but the documentation i have remains unclear wether the pentode section is remote or sharp cut-off. Can anyone help?

Sharp cutoff. See also 6GJ7, 8GJ7. And of course Fred's paraphase circuit... http://www.dogstar.dantimax.dk/tubestuf/paraph.htm

Taking a look at Frank's website, http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/f...0/p/PCF801.pdf
the pentode curves look to be somewhat remote cutoff. Also at frank's, http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/f...4/p/PCF801.pdf it says that it's a remote cutoff pentode. Unless you want to use it for guitar work, it's probably not usable for audio. |

Thanks, you are rightm the mazda datasheet in French says it's a remote cut-off. Well, I suppose I should find a radio uy that can use the dozen or so NOS I have here along with the EF183 and EF85...
