Thanks, Ian.
What has been your verdict on the bypass cap configuration? |

Adam,
See earlier post. I'm using a single 1000uF/25V Blackgate NX across each EL84 Cathode current source. This is the best I've been able to come up with. Cheers, Ian |

I've been sourcing power transformers for mono versions of this amp.
Here's what I've found to be adequate. Please tell me if there are any known disadvantages to using smaller transformers instead of one large one. Plate and heaters: Hammond 261G6 250V CT @ 130ma, 6.3V @ 2A CCS 5V: Hammond 167M5 5V CT @ 3A (higher current ratings available) ...and I honestly don't know what to do with the centre tap. |

hi Gingertube,
I have made a world audio kit kel34 and it sucked. Anyway, Ive never heard another valve amp so I want to build good one to decide if I like valve amps or not. Thing is I cant find any where in NZ or Aussie where I can find good quality transformers. Do you have any suggestions where I can find good transformers? |

That's a shame. Treat it as a test bed for other circuits?
