Question srpp 6c33c

Has anyone ever tried a 6c33 srpp otl output stage, I was thinking driven by a 6c45pi?

Any suggestions / considerations?

How would it sound?

Thanks

Hi ,
Already tried that . Used the lower 6C33 fixed bias with the top stage setting around 230mA . The chassis was big , ugly , hot and I had to build an outboard supply . B+ was 390V and both channels plus the driver pulled a total of 500mA . I used 7N7 input stage with 2c50 driver , both with active loads . Sounded good at low volumes only though !

cheers

Hi,

The gain of the SRPP using a pair of 6C33-Cs is nothing worth talking about and you don't need it anyway.

In order to properly drive a speaker you need to consider Zout and the capability of the stage to deliver current.

So why not use a White Cathode Follower topology to kill two birds with one stone?

Cheers,
