Designed and made some nice woodwork around an ancient Howard dialplate (escutcheon) in Art-Deco style..

Art D. would have been proud very proud. Very nice. That ess....ess....escutcheon (sorry I have allergies to weird english words) begs a small O-scope display in there showing the audio signal or easier, two VU meters with the needle fulcrums at the outside centerline and the tips pointed inwards waving past each other..
 
No, just a few blue and red leds for status. (blue-operate red-standby)
With some difuser-glasses i managed to get a quite equal illumination of the whole surface behind the eye.. It realy looks very nice so. The blue is that bright that the luminosity is equal to the average in daylight. The red is deep and visible but equal in evening luminosity.. At night the switch illuminates the background so you only see the shape and the red eye..
