Sometimes I think I know less these days than I ever did! I guess my memory ain't what it used to be. lol. I least I know not to make any more amps with tone controls!!

If that is what you were capable of before you "knew what you were doing", what are you doing now? Very impressive piece of work! (I will leave well alone and not touch on the pro/anti tone control bebate!)

Yes, you're right. I wasn't going to use them originally but I had had Heybohr custom make me some TO-350s. They screwed them up so I got the 1650Rs because I was tired waiting. But I am VERY PLEASED with them! They do a great job...

OK guys, I can hear some of you still laughing out there... "He said no expense spared and then he gets Hammond outputs?! Oh that's too funny! Ha ha ha!"

OK.. Agreed.. The outputs are the only things I skimped on. BUT I'm here to let you know I just redeemed myself and ordered a set of Hashimotos.

So in a couple weeks, we'll see how they 'transform' the AAI!!

Here's a pic of an old diy SE amp I purchased from ebay, which has recently been regutted and modified by Earle Weston (well known valve amp maker here in Australia). It was using EL34's, but Earle has installed 6L6G's which look great!

Has everyone had a change to audition the tennis ball 6SN7s coming out of China? Well they used to come from there until they ran out. What's everyone think about them? I think they sound rather good. Not unlike an NOS Sylvania. Anyway here's a photo of one in my AAI.

Here's a really great hand-made amp I bought off ebay. Perhaps some of you recognize the trademark mirror and know who the builder is. I modded it quite a bit including re-doing the power, adding gold connectors, Sonicaps, different cathode resistors and bypass caps, tube shields, NOS Dynaco A-470 outputs and Brazilian Ebony endpieces.
