I would guess that the large one might be the output tube of the OTL amp.
I can't see the type number but would guess that a 6AS7 or 6336B is used here.
Two Triode systems in one envelope = Stereo.

Hi Martin,
you are absolutely right! It now occurs to me that this is one 6AS7G driven by two triodes (halves in //?) and two display tubes. Could very well be the VanWaarde schematic then (see archives over at Headwize) ;)

Thanks for pointing out!

@yoss: Nice amp and interesting concept using some unusual tubes! Schematics available?

LesFaul,

Here is the schematic, amplifier have only balance input but I didn't have any balance source so I used passive preamp to convert un-balance to balance signal. The preamp is only transformer (Tamradio TK-135) and pot.

Siliconray Amp

I’ve been thinking about getting this amp as a starter project into tubes. Can you tell me any more about you experience? How was the vendor? Was the kit complete? How was the documentation? What was you experience level before building. What type of speakers are you pairing?

I know this a lot of questions but any impressions you have would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
