RS607 telefunken

Hi Guys!!!
It's done!
in Stereo and on.
amazing sound, very SE triode.
The pre-amp tube is a 6EM7, strong enough to drive the beast RS607
the other 2 tubes are rectifiers.
about 4 feed wide and not even 150 pounds.
luckily I finished it before the earth runs out of electricity...
the beer bottle is for scale http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif

This amplifier was built to reproduce music playback with high fidelity. The sound is light and natural. One doesn't get tired of listening to it for many hours. The voice sounds softly and naturally without tension. The amplifier has great microdynamics. The preamp is built based on tube 5692. The power amplifier uses tubes 8417. The tubes can be replaced with different ones: 6L6, 6L6GC, KT88, 6V6 and alike. In this case, the current of the output tubes can be tuned. The output transformers are Hashimoto HC-507U 5K. Very nice work PW. :D It looks very well planned as well as executed. You must be a fellow woodworker, yes? I like the use of the dovetail mitre locks. Is that purpleheart I see? I used solid maple, from a tree that I cut down and planked, and used some slivers of purpleheart to lock my mitres also. No time to dovetail this one I'm afraid. Great job.

A few more better, but not great, shots of my amp.
This amp was loosely based on the Angela or JE Labs single ended EL34 amp, and the Abdellah se KT88 amp, and some of my own changes. It really does sound quite nice. Especially after a long break in period. It seems to sound better every day.
As pictured it has a Sovtek 5U4G rectifier, Sovtek 6SL7's and N.O.S. RCA 6CA7 fat bottles. I've tried a few different drivers, including GE N.O.S. and I actually like the Sovteks better. So far.
The system I use this in also has DIY 12BH7 preamp (tube rectified), a DIY phono preamp with 2 12AX7's and passive RIAA, an old Kenwood belt drive 'table and a pair of DIY 2-way, slot ported speakers that I designed also. Not to mention most of the wires are DIY also, including the mains cord and power conditioner.
DIY rules!! :yikes:
Regards to all,
Alan
