Holy crap Head, that tube is huge. Where did you find that tube and sockets? Do you have a schematic? I am wondering if I could use this tube instead of the GM70. What do you thinK?

Hi DJN,
That tube IS huge. 15 inches!!!
1 channel weighs about 50lbs
I made the sockets myself, nothing on the net going for this...
They fit well but a lot of work.
It is way bigger than a GM70. The whole thing started because I wanted to build an amp with a GM100 (yes, call me crazy, I'm used to it) couldn't find enough of them nor for a descent price.
I'll post some more pics soon, the second chanel is almost done. STEREO and a rather high electricity bill (over 1kW in)
Here's the schematic and the drawing for the socket.
any more questions, happy to answer.
And by the way, it sounds magnificent!!!

Thanks Head. I did some measuring last night and there is no way those would fit on my existing chassis. I have a lot of old heavy iron laying around here and think I will start collecting for a RS607 amp. Might be a while before I have all the parts but I really like that tube.
