Default MQ431 or Triode's DynaClone

Has anyone compared the MQ431 DynaCo equivelent to Triode Electronics Dyna Copy PP output transformer? The MQ's are roughly $100.00 more ea. Are we just paying for a name or is it actually constructed better with maybe more expensive parts? Or are the MQ better spec'ed.

Any comments apprecaited!

PS Is Magnequest still making the MQ431??
It's not on their website.

The test at DIY tube.com didn't show much difference between those two, but it was done in their amplifier, closed loop, with no attempt at optimization for each one. The Magnequest had less loss, probably has a heavier gauge of wire. I think the Magnequest is better, but is it $100 better?

In my opinion, the DynaClone transformers are the best values there are right now, if you happen to need one of that type. Just like the original Dynacos... there are better, there are cheaper, there are none as good at the price.

Hi Ron:

We are retiring the MQ431 as soon as we clear off our shelves. At last count we have about three pairs of coils left.

Mike, the part number suggests more of a Mark III transformer. Or am I reading too much into that?
