WIRE
Hello yuval,
For hookup wire I always had excellent results with OFS .6mm (signal path) solid core sliver wire,PTFE insulation.
I get mine directly from the horse's mouth but you can check my buddy's link for a suitable distributor:

Hello,
Hook-up wire normally isn't.
You can lightly twist a pair of wires together to provide some shielding.
Assuming you're using a metal casing for your project you probably won't benefit from extra shielding but I leave that open for debate.
I always prefer to use unshielded runs of wire inside my gear, opinions may differ from mine though.
Several colours of insulation are available to make distinguishing between ground and signal wiring.
All interconnects are shielded and fully symmetrical in build.
These can be bought unfinished (no plugs) an a per meter basis from a distributor of your choice.
