Home Made Tubes?? has anyone made one, is it possible??

Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had tried building a Home Made Tube to see if it could be done.
It doesn't matter how well it worked, just that it did work is what interests me.
What would you need ( Materials) to make it possible.
Is it possible??

-Why is it that grease from working on a Ford takes weeks to come off? And the engine oil always smells "different"? (or is that just me?)

Hum,well,I *had* a link to a homebrew tube I found one night.
But now I can't find it..
