I am building a linestage (using a 6080) and using a Hammond 369AX transformer. Does it matter what direction it is turned, or rather, which side faces the circuit? Also, how much space should I give it from the 6080, or from a rectifier tube? There are no output transformers, if that matters.

i'm not sure if it matters which way it's mounted, personally i mount the power tranny as far from the audio circuit as i can within the limitations of the chassis i want to build it into though. but i would also like to know what people think on this matter as im building a new linestage at the moment aswell....
