12ax7 preamp

I need for an Hi-End project of a preamp usinfg 12ax7.
Do you have some schematics ?

Hi Antonix,
Most of the older preamps use 12AX7's or their brothers. You will find many on the web and in the forum.

Try a search under tubes for "preamp" and "12AX7".

OK!

I know that some samous brand like Conrad-Jonson and McIntosh use them.
I have found a lot of their schematics but I don't know how are their sound.

I want a suggestion about a good project with a good sound.

Ahhh, now you're getting personal.

Conrad Johnson is well regarded. So is McIntosh and many others. The problem is that many opinions exist on this subject. My only advice would be to listen to some examples and build the one you like. What I like and you like might be very different.

If you want to drag out your iron and start a-building, then start with the CJ. You can modify or change things later, since the circuits are similar.

Pay attention to your grounding and power supply. These can make a big difference. Lot's on those topics here too.
