recommend a 5Y3 based bass guitar amp?

How well would that guitar tube amp perform as a bass amp? What about using the amp as sort of a tube preamp... so I can get the tube tone with the solidstate power. Can I just add an 8ohm resitor network to obtain a line level output to go into a solidstate amp? if I can't do any of the above, anyone know of any bass amp schematics compatible with this transformer I just ordered (5Y3 rectifier or compatible).. something that is simple like the above amp. http://i19.ebayimg.com/04/i/04/c9/07/5f_1_b.JPG i'm learning, slowly but surely, im learning! |
