Just recently I measured about a dozen interstage transformers mainly from surplus military equipment. Most of these were good enough considering these were designated for PP drivers to PP grids.
I also measured a toroid mains transformer with 230V primary and 2X15 secondary 20W model. To my astonishment this was equally good, if not better as far as bandwidth and square wave responce was concerned. Is this possible or am I missing something here? If this is possible what is the prefered voltage arrangement for a phase splitter transformer say 1:1 to 2:2 at about 20K c.t primary? I mean on a 20-30W toroid, if I order 4 windings of 110V will this be usable at the phase splitting of a PP 2a3 amp? Anybody ever tried something similar? Any proposals? |

Should work very well as long as there is no DC current in primary - well balanced P-P drive, or parafeed.
