Line cord zip cord should be able to handle 600V. Usually anything dealing with 120VAC not inside equipment has a "hi-pot" of 1.4KV. There's a lot of large transient spikes on the powerline, and insulation on it has to be able to handle it.

Don't overlook good ole eBay - search for "teflon wire" and you'll find gobs of mil-spec stuff. Use Google to find what the mil-spec numbers mean, but lots of it is 600V rated. Regards, Bill.
