That's the schematic for a future project. I'm just wondering, are those 1meg pots linear or log (audio) taper? What is the rule of thumb with the choice. Is anything relating to audio, going to use a log taper? I could understand the logic if so. |

Volume controls are almost universally log taper. Tone controls vary... I would guess linear for that one... but you may only find log taper - try it!

bavis is right on the money. Old-school says use log/audio taper but I have come to enjoy linear taper for tone and volume. Just remember that it won't reaCT TO THE KNOBS (stupid caps lock) like it would with audio tapers. You lose nothing as far as performance goes.
