log vs linear

bavis is right on the money. Old-school says use log/audio taper but I have come to enjoy linear taper for tone and volume. Just remember that it won't reaCT TO THE KNOBS (stupid caps lock) like it would with audio tapers. You lose nothing as far as performance goes.
