Can someone point me to a place to do some reading on directly heated triode amps? Specifically, I am really just looking for information on how to design with them as opposed to indirectly heated tubes, and what the differences are.

This is a very good article about DHT SE amp by Thorsten Loesch. Johnny |

That is a good article, but I am looking for something much much simpler. More or less, I am looking for a basic "how to" on designing a voltage gain stage for a DHT. Perhaps this is just someting someone here can tell me, but I would like to see a single tube gain stage with a DHT, and an explanation of the how and why for each part -- I am one of those people who learn by seeing simple examples and extrapolating from there. I have a basic understanding of how this works for a indirectly heated tube, but I am not sure how they compare.

I really don't see there are much differences between the DHT and indirectly heated tubes. The design is just the same except for the filament/cathode circuit.
