Dear brothers here:
The Power Transformer iron core for a tube power-amp should connect to signal ground or earth ground or leave it open? Which is better? Why? Thanks for reply in advance! Tray |

Bond it to the chassis (which should be bonded to mains earth). This will improve safety and may reduce RFI. Signal earth is a different thing and should be bonded to chassis at the input of the most sensitive stage in the system (usually the phono stage).

I don't have phono stage, so I should bond it at the CD player or pre-amp stage?

Your CD player is probably double insulated (two-core mains lead), so I'd earth at the input of the pre-amplifier.
