Hi,

I am think to modify the filtering of the power supply for my 300B Monoblock from CLC to CLCLC. This would allow me to lower the B+ by changing the smaller value of the first capacitor with very minimal hum ripple.

I used the PSUD program to simulate the result. It seems I can add a 0.5H choke and a 100uF capacitor which will give me only 5mVp-p ripple.

I noticed that some power supply design using two 10H chokes and two 100uF capacitor for the filter. I wonder if there are any deficiencies with use of smaller choke in the second stage.

Thanks for your advices in advance.

Johnny
