valve preamp

i'm interested in building a simple valve preamp.any comments on this design,improvements etc?
anyone know of other simple designs using ecc83 or 82's(i can get those easily).

you know, if you are having difficulities with uploading images, you could use imageshack to host your images so that we can see them.

The preamp you referenced will work.

12AX7 tubes were used in some of the classic 50's and 60's tube preamps. However, most of them had cathode followers or were designed to drive tube amps with 250k input impedance.

For line stage duty, current practice is to choose more linear tubes, forgo feedback and pay attention to the power supply.. Also, tubes with lower mu are generally used.

There are a lot of line stages in the forum that look fantastic.
Check out Frank's Line stage, for example. If I were inclined to build someone else’s design, that’s one that comes to mind.
