Guys,
Need some help identifying the Stromberg Carlson Amp. Here is some photo for you, http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/m...view_album.php My questions, 1. Is that mono integrated amp? 2. Is there a schematics for it on the net for free? 3. If no, where can I buy a schematic? 4. If it's integrated mono, anyone experience to mod it to a power amp? iCefoX |

The guy who own it said it's "7072". I doubt that. I wonder if he mean 7027, a 6L6 variant.

yeah, 7027 seems about right. I knew it looked 6L6ish but not a 6L6
well whatever it is, its some sort of power pentode / tetrode. so yeah, looks like a little noval (cant see because there is a shield on it) for driver and phase splitting 2x 6L6 or similar rated power tube, in push pull (because there is only 1 opt) and 5Y3G ? (looks like) for rectifier.. I suppose it might be a 5U4.. no.. its too small to be.. well yeah. so then. pushpull mono deal. |

Sure looks like the Stromberg Carlson ASR-432 mono integrated amp, 1959 vintage. 2-7025s, 6U8, 7027s, 5V4GA. I have the Sams Photofact folder, in my "to scan" pile.

Tom,
Base on your access to the schematics, would you please comment to possibility to mod this unit to MONO AMP. Basically disable the pre amp stage of the unit. Does the unit come with any RIAA Stage? |

I was mistaken - the number is AR-432.
Yes, it has a RIAA preamp. But just use an AUX input to bypass it. And the tone controls could be bypassed by cutting and connecting to the top of the volume control. |
