Getting the supplies together for doing some amp building this winter and planned projects include both a pre-amp and a pair of mono-blocks.
It occured to me that the sink cutout from my new Corian counter top would make a nice top for each of my projects. It is large enough and has a nice color (of course it does, I picked it for my counter tops Has anyone used it this way? Any suggestions, pitfalls, dire warnings? I searched but mostly found references to using it for speaker baffles and a thread on using it in a DIY turntable (also an excellent idea I think). I didn't see any references to using it for a chassis.

Oops, forgot to mention- I'm planning on doing a tube through design so the tubes will be above the Corian rather than below. Should help with any heat issues.

Corian is nice and eazy to work with, for sure
Woodworking magazines often have corian articles if you need tips and ideas Heat is the only real enemy, corian becomes quite pliable @ 70C. |
