Yes, here's a safety thing I should point out:

With rewiring of the heater circuit, you *can* use a 12AX7 for the 6N2P, but DO NOT even attempt to replace a 6N1P with a 6DJ8/ECC88. The converse can be done without any safety risks though.

can you say why? i cant get any 6N1P's here, but i have plenty of ECC81 - 88's around.. im really keen to build this even with the higher noise figures..

also, is there a simple way to make the input line level for line level processing?

Yes. The 6N1P is designed for 250V and 2.2W Pa. 6DJ8 and their equivalents are rated 130V and 1W Pa. I have tested a 6DJ8 in this circuit and it was destroyed in about two hours.

If you have no 6N1P, you are best to use this circuit:
