i am new to headphone amplifiers in general and i need to know a good portable and home amplifier for this pair of headphones if you could help me that would be awesome. cheers.
note i am only using this for personal use i dont need any 4channel + amp.
That 40 Ohm impedance can be a source of GRIEF if tubed circuitry is used. I have the same issue with my Grado SR225s. I use a Sheldon Stokes SS headphone amp that I think is excellent. Like Dr. Stokes says, it does not sound like SS.

Re: ATH-W1000 headphones need amplifier
www.head-fi.org. Look for Kevin Gilmore's Dynahi and Migmini amps.
err edit maybe not the SS Dynahi.
Will the Musical Fidelity X-CAN v3 have problem driving it?
