One day I'm going to try paralleling two 12B4As into a 3K load. Should sound nice and put out about 2.5 watts.

A pair of EL84s, triode strapped should give you a good idea...
The small VTL Tiny Triode was just that and sounded fabulous on a pair of Martin Logan CLSs if not pushed too hard.

Cheers,

My first small tube amp was a Mullard 3-3, which uses EF86, EL84 and EZ80. A kit for this amp is advertised at: Mullard 3-3 together with a description.

I liked the sound of this little amp. The scehmatic is as follows:

Default Here is a fun little amp

The 6c45 makes a nice little amp, You can use the Hammond 125ESE for the output. This will get you 1.5 watts of exceptional sound.

Joe Esmilla (JE LABS) really likes them and they are not very expensive.
