Of current production 6L6s, the SED (Svetlana) 6L6GC draws consistently favorable remarks.

What other current production? Chinese?

All of the Russkie 6L6s I've had were sounding great, from regular 6L6s to 5881s...

Cheers,

Sure thing. It's the label the Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg uses because New Sensor (Sovtek/EH) bought the trademark rights to the "S" logo and Svetlana name, at least in the US.

If the printing on the tube is a "C" with wings it's also from St. Petersburg.
