EL34 Plastic Base Position Pin Broken

I was testing some tubes today and one of the EL34's black position pin in the center of the tube base broke off exposing the glass twist.

It still tested good but am wondering if I can glue the pin back on and safely use the tube?

Hi, Yes, I use high temperature epoxy for that. JB weld works good too.

It is bakelite, so even superglue will do. BTDT!

I have used super glue. Not a lot of heat at the pin and sets up fast.

I don't use superglue anymore because it easily breaks while inserting the tube in the socket. A little bit of elasticity is needed. It is best to avoid excessive glue, the glass evacuation stem should remain detached from the socket.
