Default Edcor PP 60w OPT

I am looking for a push pull schematic to use with a pair of Edcor 10k - 8 ohm 60w OPT. I would like more power for this build than a EL84/6v6 can provide. Most of my amps are SE and I would like to build an amp for those (rare) times when nobody else is home, Ive had a few drinks, and want to listen to Metal.

My main speakers are Klipsh Forte I @ 99db sensitivity

10k and 60 W is not very typical combination.
A pair of EL34 with highish (500...600 V) supply voltage would be near optimum.

Typical case would be 5k...6k6 with 400...450 V.

How many db do you want in your room? Even a small amp could drive 99db Klipsh's to a level that will blow your hearing...

I would just like the headroom and maybe the option to also use them on other less sensitive speakers. I also have a pair of Edcor 850vct power transformers.

Wavebourn did an amplifier using the 10K OT and GU50 tubes.

Another (uncommon) tube type to consider would be the 6JC5 series. Sort of a 6V6 on steroids.

I like the GU-50, but can't find many schematics. Was also looking at the 7581

Any harm in running 300b with the 10K opt?

300Bs or the 2A3/6A3/6B4G will work with a 10K output transformer, but not make a ton of power.

That may be a good thing with with those particular transformers.

That is kinda what I was thinking, but definitely more power than what I'm used to with my 45 SET amp lol

Yes indeed. I've actually been talked into converting some Heathkit W5M amps into 6B4G amps. With the 10K outputs, I'm not expecting a lot of power!
