Looking at the green lettering on the tube base, I would have said Sylvania, but the dot pattern below the etched P/N on the glass screams "GE".

Looking at the green lettering on the tube base, I would have said....

I would say that "Chief" (whoever they were) used green as their trade-dress, and used green ink on the tubes so they would not take-back tubes sold by other companies.

Whether Chief had a gallon of green and a base-stencil, or asked GE to use green on their tubes, we will never know.
