Ok, so you want to keep it all tube. But do you want good sound? The source follower I suggested is really just a cheap and easy way to prove to you that your 12ax7 isn't up to the task of driving your 2a3's.

Once you realize that, you can consider other options to keep it all tube. But maybe none of this matters? Since you're still on a breadboard I would certainly suggest trying a triode strapped pentode instead. In your neck of the woods I might think about maybe trying triode strapped 7788.
