Hello,
I could not find the parasitic capacitances of these tubes; not at Vaic's website Does anyone knows it ? I'm thinking about these as alternative valves in a 2 or 3 stages 2a3 SET amplifier. Regards, Alain |

Hello,
I can't help you with that, but I have built a SET with AV8 as a driver. This is a fine tube with 300B heater ad similar to PX25 anode, but why to bother, if you can buy 10y/VT25 for less money (about 40$/each). At 260V/30mA you have almost the same Rp and mu as Av8. 10y has better/more HF. Av8 has better LF. One can argue this is a matter of Rp of a tube, but I think it has something in common with 10y tungsten heater. regards Maciej |
