12BY7's has been used massively in video amplifier in tube TV sets and as drivers in ham radio sets, like those with 6146 or 6KD6 output tubes in SSB transmitters (I remember Yaesu FTDX400). So I believe they are still largely available.

What I can't understand is why to use such a powerful tube in a preamplifier? A 6CB6 or a EF184 will do the job with much less heater power waste.
