I am relatively new in this hobby, so i dont know if this is a dumb question. I am looking at 2 pre-amps, the Bottlehead Foreplay and the LightHouse Electric STA1. Here are the links, respictively:
http://www.lh-electric.4t.com/sta1.html http://www.bottlehead.com/et/adobesp..._stage_kit.htm My question is that i noticed the STA1 has 3 tubes, while the Bottlehead preamp has 2 tubes. Will this make a difference? WHich do you recommend? Thanks very much, Joe |

Hi,
Quote:
Since the BH doesn't include tone controls, they do not need to compensate for the insertion loss. At the end of the day the BH is bound to sound more transparent than the LH, the latter is more positioned towards the guitar amp crowd, I think. Other than that, the BH has built itself a good rep with an enthousiastic following. Cheers,
