I have found someone selling a pair of Grommes Precision S-35 in my area. I already have a few amps and I don't need another project so I am curious if these are worth picking up.

Here is the Schematic I found

It looks like a relatively standard PP amplifier that is supposed to put out 35 watts. The tubes seem to be a bit more esoteric than usual and they are not cheap.

Is an amp like this really going to be much better than an ST-70 or RLD amplifier once restored?

Quality amp, very hifi sounding for being a PA. It's one of my favorite platforms for guitar amp mods. They're fairly easy on the tubes, Most I've modded had original 7868 pairs in them and they were still good. They were made for continuous operation, rarely if ever turned off. The transformers are very good.

My favorite from the S series is the s-60. I use it for bass, both piezo and electric.
