Where do you obtain silver of a reasoanble quality?
I need some 5 or 6 mm silver rod, but cant seem to find anywhere to buy it that seems reliable. I dont like to buy it from a jevellery store, since if anyone gets the crap quality...it would be the one comming in from the street to buy raw materials. ![]() Magura

you may visit Audio Note and ask them .. (check out the "Cables" section).
But be prepared for an irreally high price. |

The only one that got the question almost rigth was Frank.
They just dont sell 5mm silver rod there. The reason to ask in the first place wasnt that i dont know that audio this and audio that will sell me silver....i know that perfectly well, but i also know that the price is totally lost. For the price they charge for silver....i can get stamped gold at the jevellery store. Magura

I'm buying fine silver wire through a mate who's a jeweller. He can get me 0.7mm ie about .35mm2 for $65 AUD for a 30m real. I'll buy some teflon coating where I need it. I'm sure you can get rid the same way.
Fine Silver Rod is Fine Silver rod.

Nope, not here. Here youre asked which dimention you need, and they make it for you. If i could just get stamped silver rods here id be fine. I have actually resorted to remelting old coins lately, and feel somewhat sorry about the coins. ![]() Magura

Hi,

I really don't see any use related to audio... If you want bare silver wire and PTFE tubing then that's no big deal, but rods of silver? I thought that stuff was for silversmiths... Cheers,
