Amazing, actually.

Yet, also kind of a classic: an extremely esoteric hobby by a Japanese Master Craftsman. Since… one might expect that the market for Samurai swords is … not growing much.

Lots of homebrew tools. I was especially fond of seeing the lights in his lab dim everytime he flashed the spot-welder. Takes big heap-um power to make one of those old birds glow.

John Curl's Golden Rule…: 100 kHz bandwidth, 3 μs risetime, 100 W mean output, 100 V/μs slew rate, 2 Ω dynamic load, 20 amp min current source/sink

Dirty factory, I like tube base and the glass bottle seems thick;

Question: What valve are they making?

A friend of mine has one of his amps and speaks very highly of it. I think this is the ultimate in DIY. I certainly have no idea how to make my own tubes.
