First build from scratch.

Hi to everyone.
I am looking for some advice to help me build my first linestage [ preamp] from scratch. I have built a Bottlehead Foreplay kit and now want to try my hand at my own build. I have the following requirements:
1/ I want to improve on the Foreplay.
2/ I will be using this to drive a 300B push pull amp that i am putting together with a friend.
3/ I don`t need a phono stage but i would like 3 inputs.
4/ Simple is better due to my lack of experience.
5/ I will be using my HK730 solid state receiver initially and may even end up biamping my speakers with the 300Bs.
I can read schematics and have decent soldering skills so please throw some ideas/ schematics my way to get me started.
Oh yes, i did research this and found that i don`t have the experience to choose one design over another.
