Default Problem with Antique Sounds Pre Amp

I have an Antique Sounds AQ-2004DT pre amp. I've had it for a little over 12 years. It is putting out volume to the left channel when the volume knob is turned all the way down. It has been doing this off and on but now it seems to do it consistently. Any ideas?

Probably it's related to the volume control, maybe a bad connection, or internal mechanical wear. It should be easy to replace.

Generally the quality of OEM controls isn't very good. If it were me I would replace the stereo volume control with a stepped unit. Maybe rat shack still has some left or possibly order from Mouser. Some controls simply seem to bleed a little audio at the bottom end and it can also depend on the strength of the signal coming to the preamp.
