Default Vacuum Tube Workshop

Well, it looks as though the workshop is going to become a reality! Much progress has been made since my last posting. I'll keep you up to date as progress continues.

"I have all of the equipment and materials needed to do the job properly and can transfer the necessary skills to anyone who is at least capable of replacing a screw on a pair of hindged eye glasses"

I should be all set then.......as long as dropping and losing the tiny screw a hundred times is all right

The workshop will be held sometime in the first quarter of 2015 at the Joe Martin Foundation Craftsmanship Museum located in Carlsbad, CA.

The Director of the museum, Craig Libuse, has generously offered to host the workshop on a Monday, which is normally a closed day for the museum. A section of the machine shop has been allocated for the project.

Included in the workshop will be all of the tools and supplies needed to build and process a simple vacuum pliotron. Also included will be an Armstrong regenerative radio kit designed to cover the AM broadcast band. This kit will be assembled by you during your tube's vacuum bakeout. The radio will be a good way to show off your craftsmanship!

Each tube will be tested on a curve tracer and a hardcopy set of its characteristic curves will be plotted.
