Hi,
I have Amperex (PQ) 8416 and can't find anything about them in the forum, are thay useful for audio, DAC output stage maybe ? Bernhard |

No, they're horrible. Awful. Maybe toxic and dangerous to human life. You'd better ship them to me for proper disposal.
I've been using these in preamps for the past twenty years. They're in the 6DJ8 family, but take a 12V filament. Very popular as input tubes in oscilloscopes.

Thanks, meanwhile I got a pair of Siemens CCa.
Guess that is the queen of all A few newbee's questions: Why chokes ? Is it better than a stabilized PSU ? I could imagine to use some BU208 or IRF460 for these small tubes. Is the 88 series better than the 81 / 83 / 85 ? Bernhard |
