Hi guys, i'm building a 6N1 _ 6P3P kit and I'm having a problem of volume. Ipod + Preamp + amp is playing very low..
Anyone have ideas about to solve that issue ?
Thanks !

Did you check the bias voltages? Assuming it's the kit from siliconray, there should be about:
> 120v on 6N1 plate
> 1.75v on 6N1 cathode
> 19v on 6P3P cathode
If everything checks out, try removing the feedback resistor.
If it's not the siliconray kit, a schematic would help.

Hi Ballpencil, Thanks for helping...
I mesure the exact same voltage @ +/- 2 volts for 6N1 Plate. This is not a kit from sillicon ray but it is basically the same, but I have received another schematic than the one from sillicon ray..
I'll try to join the schematic, pardon me if it dont work, i'm new to the forum...

Correct me if I am wrong but I would think 100k is not enough of a load for the Ipod. You have an impedance issue.
The strange thing is that both channel are equally low, by there, I'm guessing that the OT are ok/or both in problem ?!
PT might be good as I have the require voltages.
What should I know about Ipod + preamp + power amp impedance ?

Schematic looks fine so if you follow it as shown, there should be no problem.
If you have confirmed these voltages:
> 120v on 6N1 plate --> confirmed OK as you said
> 1.75v on 6N1 cathode
> 19v on 6P3P cathode
then most probably it's a miswiring or the wrong part on the wrong position.

marmot19, not sure if you're still on here but thanks much for the 6n1/63p3/5z4 schematic. much more helpful than the chinese one.
hey norm, if you're still active on this forum.
