preamp kit

I have it narrowed down to either an Aikido dual mono kit with outboard power supply or a tubes4hifi SP-14 kit. Would build that with the power supply outboard as well. Any thoughts on one or the other of these two? both seem to have good reps and seem similar. Thanks I would prefer to mae both with the tubes through the top of the chassis. Any issues with that?

I'm interested to see what you decided on and how your build is going. I am looking into these two models as well, and similarly interested in building an enclosure which displays the tubes.

The SP14 is an Aikido, so if you're going to build that without using the on-board supplies, you're essentially buying a different board with Broskie's circuit.

I built an aikido, point to point, just a clcrc power supply. It sounds great! completely quiet. And it was my first point to point, so I'm sure my layout is not the best. It's a forgiving topology. It's tube rectified. I use DC filaments.
