No, it's an octal type 19. I vaguely recall an article in Glass Audio a few years ago where it may have benn used as a driver for a 211 amp.

I have used it as a differential gain stage in a PP KT-88 amp, was just an experiment, but it sounded superb. - gave the KT-88 that DHT sound. The filament is common to both halves.

It's not really designed for such use and is specified as a class B PP device, but it definately works in class A. Rp is about 15K,

It's in GA 2/96 "In Search of the Perfect Tube" by David O'Rourke.

I don't have the schematic handy, but I basically used it as a Long Tailed Pair phase splitter in the first stage, running 1.5mA or so, with a 56K load. I think Vp was about 130V in this stage.

I also used it in the driver stage with a load of 40K or so, but it's tricky to get enough swing out of it to drive the output stage without resorting to plate voltages higher than the rated max. I did this , but I certainly wouldn't recommend it, Having said that, I've had no problems with these tubes so far....
