A classic and modified you might alter its value so consider some might not touch it afterwards.
Its another matter if it doesn't work and really needs it
To modify or not is always an issue with classic amps of fairly high value by themselves...

If you are familiar with the "sound" of your 8B and like it, then you should replace only with paper-in-oil types as the originals are. Russian PIOs are plentiful. Or find some NOS Cornell Dubilier PIOs for replacements. Capacitors types do affect sound to a small degree. Faster plastic dielectrics will function but may change the characteristic sound or accentuate the higher frequencies enough to be unpleasant. Of course this depends on your own hearing sensitivities and other system componets. But I've been through this before with vintage amplifiers and have learned that modern componets are not always the best sounding. This is something you will have to experience and judge for yourself.
