Assistance with rectifiers in PSUD

I'm trying to figure out how to use the rectifiers that are in the text file that comes with PSUD. For the life of me I can't figure out how to use say, a 6AX5GT with the program. The rectifier is in the text file along with the parameters but I can't figure out how to get it to appear in the program so I can model a power supply.

Any ideas?

Double-click on the rectifier in the default circuit. You will then be given the option of setting rectifier properties.

Click on the left bottom of the input (transformer/rectifier) section. Select tube rectifier option. Then instead of SS rectifiers, tubes will be in the selection window when selected.

Okay, so I change the power supply type to vacuum tube full wave type. The default rectifier comes up as a 5AR4, the rectifier I want to use is a 6AX5GT. When I double click on the rectifier type, the list of rectifiers comes up. The 6AX5 is not on the list. I go to the text file that you can download from the Duncan Amps site and the 6AX5GT is one of the many rectifiers with the parameters listed. How do I upload those parameters to use a 6AX5GT rectifier in the circuit?

Go to the directory where you have PSUD stored. There should be a text file titled Rectifiers. This is where the data for the rectifiers is stored. Copy the parameters for the rectifier you want to use and paste it into text file. I'll go ahead and share my rectifier text file with you. See below.

I have a feeling that I'm going to have a bruise on my forehead from when my palm strikes it when I figure this out but...

I've got every rectifier under the sun in the rectifier text file but only 31 tube rectifiers out of 111 appear in the program when I open it. How do you change the text file to show all the rectifiers (or at least the ones I want to use) because the ones that are showing up in the program don't appear to have anything special done to them in the text file to make them show up in the program.

Sorry to be an idiot but I'm sure it's simple once you know how.

Did you download the expanded rectifiers.txt file and drop it in your PSUD folder? A much shorter list installs with the program...

So can we deduce that PSUD2 just stops reading if it gets confused by a line in the rectifiers file?

When you download PSUD 2 the rectifier list that downloads with the program is a short one from a long time ago. There is a longer list available on the Duncan Amps website but I couldn't figure out how to replace the old file with the new one. I didn't find any errors on the longer list from Duncan's site (I only tested a couple of the new types) but the text document that jazbo8 posted looked to be formatted much more neatly so I took his word for it that there were errors. It works as well.

I didn't find any errors on the longer list from Duncan's site (I only tested a couple of the new types) but the text document that jazbo8 posted looked to be formatted much more neatly so I took his word for it that there were errors. It works as well.

There were some "garbage" entries which I deleted, and the first line did not have a part no., it started with a "," which I think trip up PSUD2. After removing it and re-sorting the list by type, it seemed to work ok. To use the longer version, just replace the rectifiers.txt file in your PSUD directory with the file I posted above.
