Hi diyers I've just finished my first tube amp
And am posting it up any comments or feed
Back would be great

I built siliconrays SR09 kit I didn't like the stainless
Look so I gave it a layer of gloss engine enamel

The only other mod was a line filter oh and I upgraded the
Line in plugs and speaker out terminals the ones supplied
Seemed a little cheep and flimsy

The only thing I'm not to happy with was the circuit got
A bit messy towards the end the amp claims to out put 10w
X2 I've acquired of eBay some 89DB 4" full rangers and am
Going down the PVC pipe road I'm thinking of getting another set
And running them in parallel would this amp have enough grunt?

I typed the speaker specs into a box designer calculator and
Converted that to cylinder form that's how I ended up with the
Size any comments or thoughts would be great thanx

You can divide the tube vertically, in two parts, and make a very long and
thin triangular insert , so to make a tapering line.

It would work, and really benefit the upper part, the larger, containing the speaker;
now it's constrained and suffocated by the very near tube :)
If you put it larger ( the speaker, of course)

I should have stressed the thin(base) and tall,
the height of the triangle(s) that, being put as inserts in the middle of the structure, and reinforced of course, would determine a conical ( tapring) shape, thus making the upper ( top) volume bigger than the bottom.
Better also moving to a two way design

No haven't powered it up yet a bit nervous about it I'm not a 100 % that I've got the pin connections wright for the FU-7 there were no numbers on the base I piced some info together that I found on the net do you have an idea they are 5 pin also I haven't got any speakers yet I still need to finish them I'm still tossing up weather to bother getting a second set of drivers and run it on 8 ohms will the amp put out the same watt if your using 4 or 8 ohm taps any thoughts I think if there is better volume levels to be had it might be worth while will the box volume need to be doubled for two drivers. Thoughts
