6n6p, 6p15p and 6p1p tested tonigh.
I'm in the process of building another rig that will give greater neg bias voltages and greater Vin, these tubes are all a little low mu for my box so perhaps these figures can be improved on, the OP i'm sure can. anyhow as V in is limited to 2vrms at present i went for 34rms/100vp-p

6n6p

gain 16.6 Va 180 Ik 23ma Vgk -5.7 (my max) dist 0.63, down to 0.59% at 43ma (max of box)

6p1p
I seemed to get only 20vrms out with 2vrms in, sure the gain is meant to be greater?
Va180 Vgk-5.5 Ik43ma Vout 20vrms 0
.29%

Ignore all the hash over 5k, Both these tubes showed few harmonics, but these are not swinging 180-200v

The 6p15p measured x20 gain as expected, dist dropped with increasing Ik to lowest of 0.28% @34vrms Va175 Vgk -5.7 (max) and Ik 43(max)
Seems the 6n15p is probably the best of the bunch, but nothing here to challenge 6e5p/D3a/6j9p etc

i read somewhere that the Russian 6j52 is an analogue of the D3a.....suggest you test it to verify....

Not exactly, but close enough.

Have already, good tube, quite a spread in the performance of the tubes I had. I,m using them in my 12av5 pp, they gave the lowest distortion in situe, though not by themselves. They are much more expensive than 6j9p, these seem to go for as little as $0.50.

I've ordered some 6j11p as Artosalo suggested, not heard much about these.
Anyone have any other suggestions of sleeper tubes or better known tubes i could look at?
12hg7
8077
11hm7
8608
are tubes that looked promising from Pete Milletts work.

Yes, 6J52P are frame grid tubes, require accuracy in assembly beyond Russian standards. :-)

Try also 6J49P.
6J5P also make nice very linear triodes. Also 6J4P, but they want lower currents.

Hi,
What about the 6N1P for input and the 6N6P for drive.??
The new Lampizator GM70 amp use these tubes for great effect.
I appreciated any input on these tubes(6n1P + 6N6P) for 6C33 and GM70.
Thanks

OBS.: Both are Triodes what looks good.
