Default Under the Christmas Tree - Valve Amplifiers 4th Ed.

Nice...

Wife was a little pissed, though when I stopped opening presents and spent the next three hours reading about circuits. It's quite an easy read, I must say.

Nice acknowledgement of SY on p. xiii as well...

It's a great read, I have the first and third editions as well..
Also recommend "Building Valve Amplifiers" in theory there is a new edition coming soon, but the current (1st) edition is excellent.

Thoughts on the book since you already blazed through three chapters?

I got one, too. I opened it to a random page and it was about the Red Light District amp, Yaniger and diyAudio. Of course!

It's written in an entertaining style. Some of the stuff I knew already, some I didn't. Lots of examples for the newby to learn from.

That's about all I can say at this point. I have a feeling this is one of those books that you go back to over and over again...

I too got this same gift for Christmas and have spent a little time reading in it yesterday evening. I look forward to the remaining part of the book as I truly enjoyed reading my 3rd. edition when I bought it a number of years ago....
